SeagullProject - The Vaults

 
Objective: The Vaults are a series of subterranean rooms and passages, believed to be the original water supply and food storage area for Dunbar castle.
This is a joint project with Dunbar Historic Society ."DHS" members Pauline Smeed, Gordon Easingwood & Alastair Punton are assisting the Trust .
 

Plan:

Phase 1 - Archeological investigation to be carried out by "Headland Archeology" and report into the underground Vaults to ascertain the History and structural content for possible future public and visitor heritage attraction.

Phase 2 - Full excavation of vaults after history determined by Phase 1and further report.

Phase 3 - Works necessary to adapt vaults into a visitor attraction, giving hopefully public access.
