Extract of the minutes of the Ordinary Meeting at Hallhill Healthy Living Centre,
Dunbar on Thursday 11th September 2008

The meeting was preceded by representation by fishermen Kevin Keillor and Peter Johnstone. The issues raised were noted and the Board will discuss these matters at the following meeting and respond to Peter Johnstone.
1. Welcome and Apologies
Chairman welcomed all and apologies were noted.
2 Corrections / Acceptance of minutes
Minutes approved as read.
3. Matter Arising
Tide Gauge – JSB is seeking funding - ongoing
Landscaping of the propeller area – ongoing
4. HMC Update
Fuel Store – the maintenance contract is due for renewal and it was agreed to renew the current contract for another year.
HM Office – work progressing with the restoration
Maintenance Bay – BC has contacted Beckett and Rankin to look at the eroding wall and suggest methods of rectifying the problems.
Diving platform – AD has arranged for Jack Laws from Coldingham to attend the Board meeting in October DHT to give us his views on how to best, and most cost effectively provide services for the growing diving fraternity. His views on the changing facilities block might also be particularly helpful and AD will take Jack around the harbour prior to the meeting so he can get a decent feel for the issues and opportunities.
Broadband access for HM – ongoing
Harbour Bridge – No handover date as yet agreed but Mac Scott Bond have carried out some further work on the Bridge and Murray Hutchison has recently attended the harbour.
Insurance to cover the Bridge is still being investigated by CMcW.

North Wall – ongoing
Ladders – RT arranging for Watts to correct the problems with the ladders
The rubber ladder still to be installed –quotes are being sought
McArthur’s Store – ongoing – good progress is being made but architects have uncovered an old wall and are photographing the area and the project may be delayed slightly. A MacArthur’s Store Management Team will need to be set up. The target completion date is 17th November 2008
Battery –ongoing
Toilets and Showers – ongoing – DA and RT to liaise and discuss proposals with the architects.
Interpretative Panels – Panel on Castle and Kittiwakes ready for installation and a date is to be arranged with Osprey. The design for the second panel from the Seabird Centre is still under discussion. CMcW to progress.
Development of Harbour –An application is being put together for funding for the wave modelling from Leader Plus. The next meeting with ELC will take place on 22nd September. CMcW will liaise with AD.
7. Communication
Next newsletter due out at the end of September and D. Johnston will organise the content and liaise with Andre Coner on production.
8. AOB
A letter has been received regarding a problem with damage to a boat in the Cromwell Harbour. CMcW will write to the owner and suggest his insurance company contact the trust insurer’s to agree liability. It was noted that the Trust Byelaws cover these issues.
