Tide Gauge – JSB investigating costs being sought – ongoing
Fuel Store – JD investigating prices with a local co-operative - ongoing
Landscaping of the propeller area – JB will need detailed drawings of the area to get layout proposals and costs - ongoing
Harbour Bridge – weight testing has been carried out but the Bridge has not yet been officially handed over by ELC. CMcW to contact AlanForsyth to enquire when they will be in a position to do so. RT will check Bridge for any defects to be put right before hand over.
Notice Board – HM to ensure area surrounding the notice board is accessible to the public and DJ has now updated the information but reports the Notice Board is in need of repairs. DJ will contact Claymore to have the locks and hinges replaced.
Vaults – CMcW contacted Dave Johnston of VIG and they have now turned off the power which means the cistern will fill and any access will have to wait until the area has been drained. The VIG have offered £300 towards the costs of the powers and further funds may be available nearer the end of the year. CMcW will go back to Dave Johnstone to discuss the current status of the Vaults.
North Pier – to be sprayed with weed killer – JD liaising with the contractor to have work carried out now that access is possible.
Harbour users meeting – CMcW proposed a meeting with Harbour Users every quarter to allow a platform for people to raise issues and concerns – ongoing.
Insurance- CMcW has a quote of £1000 p.a. increase in our premiums to add the Bridge to our Insurance. There would be a £5k excess on any claim and the cover is for accidental damage only. CMcW to discuss the matter further with the Brokers.
4. HMC Update
Navigational Hazard – RT will speak to local divers to see if they can assist with the removal of the large boulder in the harbour entrance.
6. Projects Update
North Wall – BC talking to Beckett Rankin
Hard Standing – BC talking to Beckett Rankin
McArthur’s Store – A meeting was held to discuss post completion management. George McNeil to send a financial model to CMcW. A MacArthur’s Store Management Team will need to be set up.
Diving Platform – ongoing – a suggestion was put on the web site as to location
Battery –A meeting took place between CMcW and IF and AOC. IF drawing up plans for Phase 1 which may include a general tidy up of the area and a walkway around the walls of the Battery.
Toilets and Showers – ongoing - Architects hope to have drawings prepared for end of June
Interpretative Panels – ongoing
Development of Harbour – The RNLI have indicated their support of this project and a meeting has been arranged with Crown Estates for the 16th June and a meeting with Paul MacLennan from ELC for next week. The bathymetric survey is planned for week commencing 23rd June.
7. Communication
Current Newsletter now ready for distribution. AC has now arranged for a distribution list called ‘newsletter@dunbarharbourtrust.co.uk’ to allow people to subscribe from the web site. Paper copies will also be distributed.
8. AOB
HMC will investigate broadband access for HM
An email from a potential new Director was passed to the Chairman and will be emailed around the rest of the Board.
Various funders who have supported projects would like some acknowledgement and it was agreed that we would put their logos on our web site mentioning their support of DHT.
