Extract of the minutes of the Ordinary Meeting at Hallhill Healthy Living Centre, Dunbar on Thursday 8th May, 2008

Harbour Bridge – the question of who will operate the Bridge was discussed but we are as yet unclear as to how the Bridge will be operated no decision can be taken at this time. HM and AHM should have ultimate responsibility. CMcW to contact Alan Forsyth of ELC to ask what arrangements are in place for the handover and when this will take place.
Notice Board – HM to ensure area surrounding the notice board is accessible to the public and DJ undertook to update the information.
General untidiness of the harbour area – HMC will deal with this issue on completion of the MacArthur’s Store project.
Vaults – the pump is still being run to keep water levels down and is currently costing DHT £61 per month - CMcW to contact David Johnstone to discuss.
Harbour Dues – there was a typographical error and the wrong figure was shown – RT to correct.
North Pier – to be sprayed with weed killer – JD to speak to the contractor to have work carried out before the bridge is open to the public.
Harbour users meeting – CMcW proposed a meeting with Harbour Users every quarter to allow a platform for people to raise issues and concerns – awaiting a date.
Insurance - CMcW to check with Insurers for coverage of the Bridge after it is handed over.
We are now up to 11 Directors and IF had been approached by an interested party – he will forward on a recruitment pack and await result.
North Wall – BC talking to Beckett Rankin
Ladders – Work has commenced and may be complete by end of next week
Hard Standing – BC talking to Beckett Rankin
McArthur’s Store – Ongoing and on schedule CMcW to talk to George McNeil about post completion management.
Diving Platform – awaiting completion of Bridge work
Battery –A meeting to be arranged between CMcW, AC and IF before discussions with AOC
Toilets and Showers – email from Architects who hope to have drawings prepared for end of June
Interpretative Panel – As agreed the Seabird Centre will fund an interpretative panel for the Kittiwakes in association with Duncan Priddle from ELC and Osprey. The panel which DHT obtained funding for will feature the Castle. Any excess funding will be used to upgrade the panels at the Battery.
Development of Harbour – The RNLI have indicated their support of this project and a meeting has been arranged with Crown Estates for the 15th May and a meeting with Paul MacLennan from ELC for next week. The bathymetric survey is planned for week commencing 23rd June.
Communication – All Directors were asked for content on any projects or any other information they would like to appear in the next Newsletter. Can all information be sent to DJ by the end of May
