The judges visited a windswept Battery on 5th March where they met members of the Trust and community who were involved in the project. The feedback from them, and others involved throughout the project, was well received and gave the judges a better understanding of the variety of community interest in the Dunbar Battery. They noted that despite the weather, the quality of the project shone through. This resulted in the Dunbar Battery winning a Commendation at the Scottish Civic Trust My Places Award on 20th March 2018. Congratulations and our thanks to all involved.

Bad weather and poor rescheduling to clash with Mother's Day meant only 4 volunteer Friends of Dunbar Battery gave the Dunbar Battery a buff and polish to ensure it was ready for the summer ahead. Despite the weather of early March, the Battery was in good shape with only minor litter picking required. If you are interested in helping out with the Dunbar Battery you can join the Friends of Dunbar Battery on our Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/groups/447249205640627/
